Spring Bright and White

From a simple little (hand crafted, I think) nightstand at $32.00

to a slightly distressed painted tray table - also $32.00

to the very popular traditional drum table with
claw feet and lion pulls, also painted white and lightly distressed -$129.00

Just A Second has lightened up for Spring from front porch to back deck and all the rooms between.  You'd think I was describing a mammoth building instead of our little shop. Every day brings little changes, so there is always something new (even though it's mostly vintage) at Just A Second.  Looking forward to your visit.

Love what I do....can't stop

It's a phone pic so not very clear, but this is Annie's (oldest daughter) Spring mantel (tentative) pending her approval, of course.  Did I tell you she's tough.

Got here to babysit her four handsome young men, and couldn't help noticing the mantel.
There were still remnants of Christmas...and Valentine's Day.

Time for a space lift I asked her 5 year old if he thought his mom would mind if I redid her mantel.  Very seriously, he explained that his mom wanted it ready for Christmas next year.

I, of course, had to transmit the conversation to Annie, to which she responded, "lol, actually that's one of your assignments."

So, now I'll be waiting for her reaction. She likes clean lines and primary colors.  We'll see.

"Second to None" — ArtScene is coming to Just A Second

We're already working on getting the shop ready for ArtScene on April 13 and 14.
We are very excited because Tom Heflin will join us on Friday evening to sell and sign his prints and books. We will also have "Tom Heflin week" at Just A Second, so you can preview his prints (and hopefully some paintings) at your leisure.

In addition Keri McDonald of  The Paper Button will be displaying and selling her vintage repurposed button jewelry and accessories.

Tina Rippy, resident artist and crafter at Just A Second will display her signature scarves and purses as well as special ArtScene additions — decorated furniture and accessories.

And the shop is getting redone spacewise to allow more visitors to fit and examine all the goodies, so SAVE THE DATE: April 13 and 14 for Spring ArtScene at Just A Second.

....and we have "French" flower buckets.

Great green with dull gold trim

Well, not really French, but that's the feel they convey, and they are scattered about our "French Market" area..as much as it can be a French Market in Northern Illinois.

We have wire accessories and bunny touches and all kinds of things that bring Spring just a little bit closer.

Textured cream background with daisy pattern and rust colored centers

Tall, "rusty" bucket with great patina

Won't be long before we open the patio......

And it wouldn't be French without a rooster.
